Siemens Clinitek Status+ (With Connectivity Base Only)

Configuration Guide

Before you Start:

Before beginning, make sure the CLINITEK Status® Connect System base* is connected to the Status+ and plugged into a network drop.

To configure the Siemens Clinitek Status+ to connect to Relaymed the following configuration stages are required:

  1. Siemens Clinitek Status+ connection configuration.
  2. Clinitek Status+ Patient ID and Operator ID configuration
  3. Add device to Relaylink.
  4. Recall a result to test communication

Stage One: Connection Configuration

Step 1: Use the touchscreen to select Instrument Set Up

Step 2: Use the scroll down button to find Instrument Settings, then press Select.

Step 3: Use the scroll down button to find Connectivity, then press Select.

Step 4: Select Enabled for Connectivity Platform and select Enabled to Allow results to be sent to PC, then click Next.

Step 5: Select Wired Connection and then then Edit wired setting.

Step 6: Select the required IP Address Configuration.

  • Select DHCP for the Clinitek Status+ to be automatically allocated an IP Address then configure the following settings:
    1. Select "Next".
    2. Select "No" for Gateway.
    3. Select "Next".
    4. Select "Enter Device name" 
    5. Enter the device name using the on-screen keypad, press "Enter".
    6. Select "Next" to proceed.
  • Select Static to configure a static IP Address  and the configure the following settings:
    1. Select "Enter IP address"
    2. Enter the static IP address allocated to the Clinitek Status+ using the on-screen keypad the press "Enter".
    3. Select "Next".
    4. Select "Yes" for "Gateway".
    5. Select "Enter Gateway address".
    6. Enter the Gateway address for your network using the on-screen keypad the press "Enter".
    7. Select "Enter Subnet mask"
    8. Enter the Subnet mask address for your network using the on-screen keypad the press "Enter".
    9. Select "Next" to proceed.

Step 7: For Communication protocol select HL7, then press Next.

Step 8: On the Host setup select Enter IP address.

Step 9: Enter the IP address of the Server running the Relaylink using the on-screen keypad, then press Enter.

Step 10: On the Host setup select Enter Port number.

Step 11: Enter the port number that the server will listen for test results on, then select Enter.

Step 12: Press Done on the next 4 screens until you return to the main menu

Stage Two: Patient ID and Operator ID Configuration

Go to "Instrument Set Up" > "Operator and Patient information" > "Custom Set Up"

  • Patient Id: Enabled
  • Operator Id: Enabled
  • Sample Appearance: Color and Clarity

Press "Done" to save the configuration.

Stage Three: Add Device to Relaylink

Stage Four: Recall results to test connection

From the Main menu do the following:

  1. Select the Recall Results option
  2. Select Recall Patient Tests
  3. Select the option for View All Results
  4. Highlight the result you would like to transmit 
  5. Hit Done when finished
