Configuration Guide

Before You Start

Note:  The cobas Liat requires the Relaylink version 3.0.3 or later to be installed.  Check the version of your Relaylink if you are an existing client adding this device in as new to your Relaymed.

In order to connect the cobas Liat to Relaymed, you will need to have an ethernet cable and network drop available to connect the device to the local area network.  The RJ-45 port can be found on the back of the unit.

Configuration Stages

To configure the cobas Liat to connect to Relaymed the following configuration stages are required:

  1. cobas Liat Network Configuration
  2. cobas Liat Network Connectivity
  3. Add device to Relaylink. 

Stage One: Network Configuration

Step 1: From the cobas Liat home screen scroll or select on the touch screen  the "Settings" button.

Step 2: From "Settings" then press the "Network" button.

Step 3: On the Network Screen, select:

  • DHCP - The cobas Liat will be assigned an IP Address automatically
  • Press "Done" to save work
  • If the device is connected to the network, once "Done" is pressed, it will automatically assign the following from the network:
    • IP Address
    • Subnet Mask
    • Gateway
    • DNS Server

 

Stage Two: Network Connectivity

Step 4: Go back to Main Screen > Settings > Connectivity

From the Connectivity Screen, select "Type", make sure the HL7 Type is selected.

Then move down one and select "Server Details"

Enter the server or workstation IP address where Relaylink will reside

Assign a Port number (ex. 9050)

Select "Done" when Server and Port are assigned and matching network.

Next go to the "Auto Send Results" choice on the Connectivity screen

Make sure the choice shows "Yes" and then press Save

 

Once all choices are saved in the system, back out of the menu to the main screen.

The cobas Liat is now ready to be connected to the Relaylink.  

Stage Three: Add Device to Relaylink

To add the cobas Liat to the Relaylink follow the Add Ethernet device to Relaylink guide

When that is completed and confirmed, tests may be sent through to Relaymed and the EHR.
