Configuration Guide

Configuration Stages

To configure the Quidel Sofia to connect to Relaymed the following configuration stages are required:

  1. Quidel Sofia connection configuration.
  2. Patient ID and Operator ID configuration.
  3. Add device to Relaylink.

Stage One: Connection Configuration

Step 1:  Using the Sofia's Keypad select "Main Menu".

Step 2: Use the Sofia Arrow keys to highlight "Supervisor Menu" then press "Select".

Step 3: If prompted enter your Supervisor ID and Select "OK".

Step 4: On the "Supervisor Menu" select "Settings" and press "Select".

Step 5: On the "Settings" menu select "General Settings" and press "Select".

Step 6: On the "General Settings" menu select "Set Network Configuration" and press "Select".

Step 7: Use the Sofia Arrow Keys to select required IP Address assignment:

  • Select DHCP for the Quidel Sofia to be automatically allocated an IP Address.
  • Select Manual to configure a static IP Address and the configure the following settings:
    • Network Address: The Static IP address to be assigned to the Sofia.
    • Subnet Mask: The Subnet mask for your network.
    • Gateway: The Gateway IP Address for your network.

Step 8: Press the down arrow to select "Port Number", then enter the incoming port for the Sofia (Note: This can be the same port used in the Relaylink, or left as the default).

Step 9: Press "OK" to save the settings and return to the "General Settings" menu.

Step 10: On the "General Settings" menu select "Set LIS Parameters" and press "Select".

Step 11: Press the down arrow to select "LIS Address", then enter the Static IP address to be assigned to the Relaylink host.

Step 12: Press the down arrow to select "Port Number" enter the port number to be assigned to the device in the Relaylink.

Step 13: Press the down arrow to select "Auto Send" and "On" is selected.

Step 14: Press the down arrow to select "Queue Results for LIS" and "On" is selected.

Step 15: Press "OK" to save the settings and return to the "General Settings" menu.

Step 16: Press "Back" until you reach the supervisor menu and then "Main Menu" button to return to the home screen.

Stage Two: Patient ID and Operator ID Configuration

To ensure the required information for Auto Processing of a patient test by Relaymed is sent by the device we recommend the following configuration settings:

  • Patient ID: Enabled (Required)
  • Operator ID: Enabled (Optional)

Step 1:  Using the Sofia's Keypad select "Main Menu".

Step 2: Use the Sofia Arrow keys to highlight "Supervisor Menu" then press "Select".

Step 3: If prompted enter your Supervisor ID and Select "OK".

Step 4: On the "Supervisor Menu" select "Settings" and press "Select".

Step 5: On the "Settings" menu select "Set Entry Req. & Timeout" and press "Select".

Step 6: Use the Sofia Arrow Keys to select "User ID" and set as "Optional" or "Required" to suit your clinical workflow.

Step 7: Use the Sofia Arrow Keys to select "Patient ID" and set to "Required".

Note: "Order #" is not required by Relaymed

Step 8: Press "OK" to save the settings and return to the "Settings" menu.

Step 9: Press "Back" until you reach the supervisor menu and then "Main Menu" button to return to the home screen.

Step 10: A power cycle of the Sofia may be required for the setting changes to take into effect.
