Configuration Guide

Configuration Stages

To configure the Medonic M-Series to connect to Relaymed the following configuration stages are required:

  1. Medonic M-Series Connection Configuration
  2. Lantronix xDirect Adapter Configuration
  3. Add device to Relaylink.

Stage One: Connection Configuration

To allow the Medonic M-Series to communicate with Relaymed the following settings are required:

  • Manual Send Mode: Without Histograms
  • Auto Send Mode: Without Histograms
  • HW Handshake: Inactive
  • Send with Ack: Inactive
  • Baud Rate: 9600N81
  • Serial Port: USB RS232 Serial Port Adapter

Step 1: From the Medonic M-Series "Home Screen" select the "Menu" Tab.

Step 2:  From the "Menu Tab" select "Advanced".

Step 3: From the "Advanced" Menu select "Setup".

Step 4: From the "Setup" Menu select "Serial Setup".

Step 5: On the "Serial Setup" menu select "Manual Send Mode".

Step 6: On the "Manual Send Mode" screen, set the mode to "1" to set Without Histograms, then select "OK" to save the setting and return to the "Serial Setup" menu.

Step 7: On the "Serial Setup" menu select "Auto Send Mode".

Step 8: On the "Auto Send Mode" screen, set the mode to "1" to set Without Histograms, then select "OK" to save the setting and return to the "Serial Setup" menu.

Step 9: On the "Serial Setup" menu select "HW handshake".

Step 10: On the "HW handshake" screen, set to "[ ]" to set the HW handshake to inactive then select "OK" to save the setting and return to the "Serial Setup" menu.

Step 11: On the "Serial Setup" menu select "Send with Ack".

Step 12: On the "Send with Ack" screen, set to "[ ]" to set the Ack to inactive then select "OK" to save the setting and return to the "Serial Setup" menu.

Step 13: On the "Serial Setup" menu select "Baud Rate".

Step 14: On the "Baud Rate" screen, set the mode to "2" to set the Baud Rate to 9600N81, then select "OK" to save the setting and return to the "Serial Setup" menu.

Step 15: On the "Serial Setup" menu select "More" to display additional options.

Step 16: On the "Serial Setup" menu select "Serial port".

Step 17: On the "Serial port" screen, set the mode to "4" to set the Serial port to USB RS232 Serial Port Adapter, then select "OK" to save the setting and return to the "Serial Setup" menu.

Step 18: On the "Serial Setup" menu select "Exit", continue to select "Exit" until you return to the Home Screen.

Stage Two: Lantronix Configuration

Step 1: Attach the USB to Serial adapter to an available USB A port on the back of the Medonic M-Series 

Step 2: Connect the Lantronix xDirect to the RS232 Port of the USB to Serial adapter.

Step 3: Follow the Lantronix xDirect configuration guide to correctly configure the adapter to connect to your network.

Stage Three: Add Device to Relaylink
