Configuration Stages

To configure the Horiba ABX Micros 60 to connect to Relaymed via the Horiba LiteDM Software the following configuration stages are required:

  1. Contact Horiba on 888-903-5001 option 3, and then option 3 again to open an interface request.  You'll need their device serial number and a POC. 
  2. Arrange an interface device connectivity call between Horiba and Relaymed
  3. Horiba ABX Micros 60 Lite DM Connection Configuration
  4. Lantronix xDirect Adapter Configuration
  5. Add device to Relaylink.

Stage One and Two: Horiba Preliminary Configuration

The initial stages of connecting the Horiba ABX Micros 60 requires the Horiba support team to make a configuration change to the LiteDM software.

Stage Three: Horiba ABX Micros 60 Lite DM Connection Configuration.

Step 1: In the LiteDM Software interface navigate to the Setup --> Instrument Interface page.

Step 2: On the Instrument Interface page configure the following options:

  • Com Port of the Serial Output is required (found via Device Manager)
  • Baud Rate set to 9600
  • Send Results out COM Port is enabled
  • Send QC out Com Port is enabled.

Stage Four: Lantronix Configuration

Step 1: Connect the Lantronix xDirect to the directly to the RS232 output cable of the LiteDM data cable.

Step 2: Follow the Lantronix xDirect configuration guide to correctly configure the adapter to connect to your network.

Stage Five: Add Device to Relaylink

Troubleshooting

If the device is configurated to use identifiers rather than HL7 format and the U and V identifier fields swap unexpectantly the patientID will start coming through in the sampleID field and vice versa. There is a setting where you can switch the parameters back.
