What is EHR Mapping and how to set it up?

EHR Mapping is a one-time setup that links your device tests to corresponding EHR orders. During this process, you define which EHR order is associated with each test. You can also configure analyte names, reference ranges, and comments as part of the setup.

How to get there?

Navigate to Settings >> EHR Mapping

Or use the shortcut from the test itselfEHR Mapping shortcut from the test

How to setup?

  1. Select the EHR order you'd like to associate with:
    1. On HL7 based integrations - test order would need to be sent over the interface prior to be available for selection
    2. On API integration - type the order name and hit "search" to search against your EHR global compendium
  2. Select the device test type
    1. If you got here via the shortcut on the test itself this should be pre populated for you 🎉
  3. Select the analytes you'd like to send to your EHR
    1. You can edit the analytes names here*
*for athenaOne customers - please make sure these names match your analytes names in your in office order configuration in athena (not case-sensative)
    2. You can edit your analyte codes*
*for HL7 based integrations - these would be the LOINC codes we send to your EHR. You can update them to match any pre existing EHR configuration you may have.
  4. Reference ranges and abnormals
    1. Choose whether you'd like to define reference ranges in the portal (standardization across the board), or
    2. Use device defaults (will auto skip to the last step)
  5. Demographics reference ranges
    1. Some test will require different ranges to be set based on the patinet's demographics
    2. You can select that here based on sex and age of the patient
  6. Define reference ranges
    1. Range -
      1. Should be used for numerical value tests
      2. Critical low/high are optional and won't be sent to the EHR explicity, however will flag differently if test hits this threshold
    2. Value -
      1. Should be used for discrete test results, i.e. "Positive", "Negative"
      2. Make sure your reference ranges labels match the device output (e.g. Neg/Negative/Not Detected) - not case sensative
    3. N/A -
      1. Use it if you don't need to define reference range for an analyte (e.g. calculated risk ration)
  7. Finish setup
    1. Select the applicable options
    2. Please note "State Reporting" has a separate onboarding process. Contact us to learn more.

Your mapping will now appear on the list. You can select automation setup now.

How to test this?

Go back to your test and hit "Send" so it will go to your EHR.

Verify all settings are displayed correctly.
