Configuring Reference Ranges in the Relaymed Portal

This article covers how to edit/add reference ranges to your configured orders in the Relaymed Portal

Add Reference Ranges:

*Note: You must have admin or configuration manager settings in the Relaymed portal to complete these steps*

  1. Navigate to the Relaymed portal Dashboard (portal.myrelaymed.com).
  2. Near the top of the portal, select the Settings option.
  3. Select EHR Mapping
  4. Select the Pencil Icon next to the order you wish to add reference ranges for.
  5. You will be brought to the orders configuration screen. From here, click on the check mark that reads "Reference Range and Abnormals", or click Continue for each step until you reach that portion.

  6. You can select Set Now to configure the reference ranges in Relaymed and select Continue.

*Note*: In this guide, we will assume you don't have any demographic reference ranges. For a guide on configuring those, please go here

  7. Select No for the Demographic reference ranges, and select Continue
  8. You should now be in the "Define reference ranges" section, and see 3 selectable options for each test analyte. Select the option that best fits the analyte type:
    1. N/A: No reference ranges will be applied to this selected analyte
    2. Value: Flagging will be determined by a set value (Negative, Abnormal)
    3. Range: A range will be applied for the analyte (10-100, 0.5-0.7)

  9. Fill in the applicable fields depending on your type choice:
    1. Range - You will be given a Low and High value, and an optional Critical Low and Critical High field. Could you fill these in with your specific range? You can either type in the numbers or use the arrows that appear in the box when you hover over it to increase the value.

    2. Value - Our values are inclusive, which means any values in the box will flag normal, and any left out will flag abnormal. For example, for a COVID-19 test you would enter Negative, and exclude Positive. Any positive COVID-19 test would now flag as abnormal.

Correct - Positive will flag abnormal:

Incorrect - Positive would flag as normal:

To enter the value, type it in the box, and then press Enter on your keyboard. It should look like the examples above. You can delete any entered value by selecting the next to it.

*Important Note* Ensure the value you enter matches the values that the device puts out, or the range could flag abnormal even when it isn't. (For example, using "Positive" as the value when the device puts out "Pos")
  1. Once you have filled in all of your Values and Ranges, you can select the Continue button.
  2. Select the Save icon to save your configuration.

*Important* If you do not hit Save, your configuration will not be set! This is an essential step
