Configuration Guide

Configuration Requirements

To configure the Alere Cholestech LDX to connect to Relaymed using an Ethernet connection the following configuration stages are required:

  1. Device Configuration of Alere Cholestech LDX.
  2. Alere Cholestech LDX Connection Configuration
    • Lantronix Configuration for Ethernet
    • Digi Edgeport connection for Direct PC
  3. Add device to Relaymed Software Agent.

Stage One: Device Configuration 

Step 1: Hold the "Stop" button until the screen shows the Language Option Configuration.

Step 2: Cycle through the Settings using the "Run" button until the menu reads "LDL/HDL".

Step 3: Using the "Data" to set "LDL/HDL = No"

Step 4: Using the "Run" button cycle through the Settings until the menu reads "Printer".

Step 5: Using the "Data" to set "Printer = On"

Step 6: Using the "Run" button cycle through the Settings until the menu reads "No Copies?"

Step 7: Using the "Data" to set "Num Copies?  1".

Step 8: Press the "Stop" button to exit the configuration menu.

Ethernet Configuration

Stage Two: Lantronix Configuration (Ethernet Connection Only)

Step 1: Connect the Cholestech LDX Printer Cable to the printer port on the rear of the Cholestech LDX.

Step 2: Connect the Male-to-Male Null Modem adapter to the Cholestech LDX Printer Cable.

Step 3: Connect the Lantronix xDirect to the Male-to-Male Null Modem adapter.

Step 4: Follow the Lantronix xDirect configuration guide to correctly configure the adapter to connect to your network.

Stage Three: Add Device to Relaymed

Direct PC Connection

Stage Two: Digi Edgeport Connection (Direct PC Connection Only)

Step 1: Connect the Cholestech LDX Printer Cable to the device.

Step 2: Connect the Digi Edgeport to the Cholestech LDX Printer Cable and an available USB port on the PC.

Step 3: Record the Serial Number on the Digi Edgeport Adapter, this will be required to add the device to Relaymed Software Agent.
