Configuration Guide

Configuration Stages

To configure the Abbott CELL-DYN Emerald to connect to Relaymed the following configuration stages are required:

  1. Configure the Host Output Communication Mode of the Abbott CELL-DYN Emerald.
  2. Configure Patient Information Settings on the Abbott CELL-DYN Emerald.
  3. Add device to Relaylink.

Stage One: Configure the Host Output Communication Mode

Step One: From the Abbott CELL-DYN Emerald Login screen enter the Operator ID and Password for a "Tech User"

Step Two: From the Main Menu press the "SET UP" button.

Step Three: From the Set Up Menu, press the "ADVANCED" button.

Step Four: From the Advanced Menu, press the "COMMUNICATION" button.

Step Five: On the "Communication" screen configure the following options:

  • COM. MODE Configuration:
    • Select "HOST NET"
  • TRANSMIT Configuration:
    • Check "HANDSHAKE" is NOT selected.

Then Select "NET. PARAM."  to continue the Network Configuration.

Step Six: On the "Network Parameters" screen configure the following options:

  • HOSTConfiguration:
    • PROTOCOL: "TCP/IP"
    • ADDRESS: Static IP address allocated to the Relaymed Software Agent host.
    • PORT: Port used to communicate with the Relaymed Software Agent.

  • AUTOMATION Configuration:
    • ADDRESS: Assign an IP address strictly used only for this device. 
      *If the IP address assigned is already in use by another device, the connection will be unsuccessful. 
    • MASK: Subnet mask for the network where the Relaymed Software Agent is installed.
    • GATEWAY: Gateway for the network where the Relaymed Software Agent is installed.

Note: IF using Lantronix Adaptor SERIAL PARAM will has to be selected and HANDSHAKE has to be enabled.

Then Select "CONFIRM"  to Save the Network Configuration.

Step Seven: On the "Communication" screen select "CONFIRM"  to Save the Network Configuration.

Stage Two: Configure Patient Information Settings

Step One: From the Abbott CELL-DYN Emerald Login screen enter the Operator ID and Password for a "Tech User"

Step Two: From the Main Menu press the "SET UP" button.

Step Three: From the Set Up Menu, press the "ADVANCED" button.

Step Four: From the Advanced Menu, press the "REPORTING OPTIONS" button.

Step Five: On the "Reporting Options" screen configure the following options:

  • PID REQUIRED: Enabled

Then Select "CONFIRM"  to Save the Configuration.

Stage Three: Add Device to Relaylink

To add the Abbott CELL-DYN Emerald to the Relaylink follow the Add Ethernet device to Relaylink guide

Note: The Abbott Emerald port number must be five points away from any other device.
