Configuration Stages

Make sure it's plugged in

An ethernet cable must be plugged directly into the RJ-45 port on the back of the machine:

Stage 1: Device configuration steps 

  1. Select the Main menu (1)
  2. Select the Configuration menu (2)
  3. Select the General Settings menu (3)
  4. Select the Connectivity menu (4)

In the Connectivity section:

Select:

  • Protocol: ASTM LL
  • Results: Patient and control results
  • Check New results only

Go to page 2:

  • Patient ID as: HIS Patient ID
  • Select the paper and pencil icon
  • Enter the software agent Server IP and Port (Receiving application is left blank)
  • Press the green check to save the settings

Now, please verify the device's network settings (this is for you Network team):

  1. Select the Main menu (1)
  2. Select the Configuration menu (2)
  3. Select the General Settings menu (3)
  4. Select the Instrument network menu (4)

In the Instrument network section:

  • To have an IP auto assigned to the device: make sure DHCP is checked
  • To give the device a static IP: make sure DHCP is unchecked, and enter the network settings

Stage 2: Confirm settings saved

Step 1:  Power the Afinion 2 off and then back on to confirm settings have been saved.

Step 2: You'll need to run a new test on the device in order to test the connection is working (there is no recall option on the device).

Stage 3: Add Device to Relaymed Link or Relaymed Software Agent

For practices using the Relaymed Link, log in to your Relaymed Portal and follow these steps:

*Notes 

Abbott Afinion 2 doesn't have an auto send functionality. So that the operator needs to "release" the test from the analyzer once the sample is finished (test takes a few minutes).
