Configuration Guide
Configuration Stages
To configure the Abaxis Piccolo Xpress to connect to Relaymed the following configuration stages are required:
- Abaxis Piccolo Xpress connection configuration.
- Add device to Relaymed Software Agent
Stage One: Connection Configuration
If your Abaxis Piccolo Xpress requires the UGreen USB to Ethernet Adapter follow these preliminary steps:
- Power Off the Abaxis Piccolo Xpress
- Connect the UGreen adapter to an available USB port on the rear of the Piccolo Xpress.
- Connect the UGreen to an available Ethernet Port.
- Power On the Abaxis Piccolo Xpress
If your Abaxis Piccolo has a built-in Ethernet port follow these preliminary steps:
- Power Off the Abaxis Piccolo Xpress
- Connect the Piccolo Xpress to an available Ethernet Port.
- Power On the Abaxis Piccolo Xpress
To configure the Abaxis Piccolo Xpress please follow the following steps:
Step 1: From the main menu select the hand icon.

Step 2: Select the hand icon with the right arrow to navigate to the next screen.

Step 3: Select the communication settings icon.

Step 4: Set the protocol to 'ASTM 1394-97'.

Step 5: On the 'ASTM Physical Layer' screen select 'TCP\IP'.

Step 6: Select 'Change Settings'

Step 7: On the 'ASTM TCP/IP Settings' page enter the following information:
- Address Type: This option only appears on the newer versions of the Abaxis Xpress.
- The operator can hit "Static IP" to create the opportunity of selecting DHCP

- Analyzer IP: DHCP/Static IP address allocated to the device.
- Subnet Mask: Appropriate mask for your network.
- Gateway IP: Appropriate gateway for your network.
- Server IP Address: Static IP address allocated to Relaymed host.
- Server Socket: the TCP Port used to communicate with Relaymed, this will be required in Stage 2 "Add device to Relaymed Software Agent".

Step 8: Select 'Home' to Save the settings and return to the Piccolo Home screen.
Step 9: The Piccolo may require a Power Cycle (Turn Off, then back Turn On) for the configuration changes to take effect.
